More hybrid: BMW X2 xDrive25e

After the BMW X1 xDrive25e, the X2 gets the same plug-in hybrid recipe. The addition to the plug-in hybrid family will get the specifications that will ring a bell.

In the nose of the BMW X2 xDrive25e there is a small 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol with 125 hp and 220 Nm torque. Thanks to an electric engine with 95 hp and 165 Nm, the combined power output is 220 hp and 385 Nm torque. Sounds familiar.

The well-known 6-speed Steptronic-automatic gearbox makes it possible to hit 100 km/h in 6,8 secondes -0.1 seconde less than the X1. The fun ends with a top speed of 195 km/h, while the X1 stops at 193 km/h.

On the battery alone the X2 will get you 55-57 km far. BMW gives you a special Max eDrive-mode that will optimize the hybrid system and decrease the maximum speed to 135 km. When empty, it will take 5 hours to be fully loaded or 3,5 hours for 80 per cent.
