Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm, hot and hotter

Alfa Romeo already delivers a crazy fast Giulia in the shape of a Quadrifoglio. That hot Giulia becomes even hotter thanks to the legendary GTA-label.

GTA or Gran Turismo Alleggerita -Alleggerita, Italian for lightweight- is a label Alfa Romeo only gave to their extremely intense cars. Something like the Mercedes-AMG Black Series stuff. Let's be honest, who doesn't look forward to an even more bonkers Giulia?

Just like in the tales of the older GTA's, the Giulia will get more power, less weight and better aerodynamics. The 2.9-liter Biturbo V6 will get 540 hp (+30 hp over the Quadrifoglio) and combine this with 100 kg less weight -for a total of 1.520 kg) then you will hit 100 km/h in only 3,6 seconds (-0.3 seconds) thanks to the launch control.

The 100 kg saving in weight is thanks to frequently use of carbon fibre. Driveshaft, roof, hood and pieces of the seats exist out of that stuff. But also the aluminium in the suspension contributes to a lighter weight. Every hp only needs to pull 2,82 kg.

We owe the exterior to the F1-racing team Alfa Romeo Racing -you may know it as Sauber. Another front- and rear bumper, active splitter on the front, custom side skirts and even the special centrale Akrapovic-exhaust is include in the package. 20-inch rims with central wheel nuts -a first on a street-legal sedan- complete the look.

With the Giulia GTAm, Alfa Romeo also offers a 100% street-legal racecar. Losing his rear-seats and door panels, while winning a roll cage and racing seats with a six-point belt help to make the car even better. And we haven't talked about the bigass carbon fibre spoiler.

One sad thing about the story: The Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA and GTAm is limited to only 500 pieces.
