It seems that BMW has sprung yet another serious leak as their upcoming performance saloon has just hit the web.
Last week we had the 5-series leak and now images of the new BMW M5 have hit the web via The Cammed & Tubbed Podcast. The images show the front and rear styling of the upcoming performance saloon from BMW. It may just be a set of 3D renders but they tell plenty.
Unlike the M3/M4 (review here), the new BMW M5 will have less extreme styling. Fitting right into the customer group this car is aiming for. Both the front and rear show styling very similar to that of the latest BMW M product, the M2. It would seem that like with the rest of the models, BMW is giving the M-models a so called family face.
By now you’ll be wondering what will power the new BMW M5, since the cooling intakes seem to have increased in size. And an increase is exactly what will happen as the upcoming M5 will benefit from an updated engine that of its predecessor. The 4.4-liter V8 engine will push out more than it ever did, no exact figures are known at this point but expect it to match that of the upcoming AMG E63. Like that car, the new M5 will benefit from AWD. But only as an option.
The wait for this car won’t be terribly long, it is set to be unveiled at the upcoming GIMS.
