Mercedes is really filling up all the niches in it’s performance department. The Mercedes-AMG GLC63 is the newest addition to the performance SUV segment.
The Mercedes-AMG GLC63 has landed and it certainly has the looks. Bearing a similar front to the one seen on the AMG GT R and AMG GT C this car looks pretty badass in the front. Is this the new styling AMG is going for?
Of course the GLC63 is the bigger brother of the infamous C63 sharing the same 4.0L V8 which produces 476 hp in standard trim or 510 hp when you opt for the AMG S version. What’s different from the C63 is that the Mercedes-AMG GLC63 features 4Matic+ like the new E63. The 4Matic+ system allows the GLC63 to send all of its power to the front or rear wheels but it doesn’t feature the same lunatic Drift mode that can be found in the E63. And that may be a good idea since we’re still dealing with a 2.000 kg monster SUV.
The Mercedes-AMG GLC63 will feature in both SUV and Coupé trim. The car will go head to head with Alfa’s Stelvio Quadrifoglio Verde and Macan Turbo. Launch is scheduled for next week at the New York Autoshow. We’re sure excited for this one.
