Don’t taunt demons they say. So it’s a good thing there’s only one of these.
Not a single soul should be surprised by another trim of the Lamborghini Aventador, but the latest version landed with such severity that it does effectively shake up things. And lap records too for that matter. Called the Lamborghini SC18, this ‘surprise’ is the product of a joined-effort between Squadra Corse and the ‘Centro Stile Lamborghini’. Sounds promising ey?
Let’s get down to business quickly, as the Lamborghini SC18 doesn’t look like it enjoys waiting: the car is in essence an evolution of the SVJ. Which basically comes down to losing even more weight (they don’t say how much) and to harnessing the air even more effectively. It almost hugs the ground as it has a ground clearance of just 109 mm, allowing less air to slide in places you don’t want it to go. One last fact before it becomes too boring: the SC18 comes with a unique carbon fiber wing with three settings, all three complimenting the existing aerodynamic system the brand is known for.
“…the aspirated 6498 cm3 V12 delivers 770 hp at 8,500 rpm and a torque of 720 Nm at 6,750 rpm, all handled via the ISR (Independent Shifting Rod) optimized seven-speed gearbox.” – Lamborghini
Looks play a part too for the one-off, road-legal racer, so that’s where (please read the next one-and-a-half sentence with an Italian accent) ‘Centro Stile Lamborghini’ comes in. A ‘Grigio Daytona’ carbon shell hugs the Lamborghini SC18, with added striping and accents to accentuate the extreme aero. An almost equal signature livery founds its way into the interior, it being black with red details. Finishing it all off is the four single nut wheels.
Wonder what’s next…
