Mercedes went to impress the world with three huge new SUV’s. The world of cars is ecstatic to embrace this threesome, but let us be honest. Greenpeace and Greta will hate them! Or won’t they?
The biggest point of contact between the three cars lies in the engine bay. The power source is a juicy bi-turbo 4.0-litre V8 but with a mild 48V hybrid-system! We think a lot of environmentalists will be happy to hear that.
Mercedes-Maybach 600 4Matic
Starting with the weakest car of this list. Maybe weak isn’t really accurate. The least powerful SUV of the bunch is called the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 and puts out 558 pk and 730 Nm torque. Speed isn’t a keyword for the Maybach but it still hits 100 km/u in 4,9 seconds and a top of 250 km/u. No 7 seats for this SUV! It gives ultimate luxury and 1,1 – 1,34 m legroom for the back passengers even though the car isn’t longer than a normal GLS.
Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 and 63 S 4Matic
Zero to 100 km/u is delt in 4 seconds, while the top speed is a german-correct 250 km/u. If you pay Mercedes just that little bit more they will let you hit 280 km/u. The S-version gives 612 pk and 850 Nm. Hitting 100 km/u just 0.2 seconds faster and stops at 280 km/u. The hybrid-system gives a boost of 22 pk for a few seconds in all the cars -it’s the same for the 2 other cars in the list.
Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4Matic+
If the GLE is a big car, the GLS is a huge car! And this huge car packs huge power! Just like the GLE 63 S, the GLS has got 612 pk and 850 Nm. All the 2,5 ton will hit 100 km/u in just 4,2 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 or 280 km/u. Don’t wait on
