So close, so close
Confirmed to be unveiled in Geneva next week, the facelift Porsche 911 GT3 has already been captured on camera. The pictures ended up on the Facebook page 911Garage, and sadly show just the booty of the highly anticipated 911 variant.
Where the pictures show just the shell, it’s what’s under the skin that counts for the 991.2 GT3. It will not adopt the turbo-technology that its facelift sibling use, but instead use an NA 3.8-liter flat-six. Biggest change that facelift 911 GT3 will see is the return of a manual transmission, something customers begged for ever since the 991-gen arrived.
What the pictures do show is how the facelift influenced the GT3’s booty, it seems to have undergone mostly functional changes. Showing a new air-scoop atop of the wing, simple deduction would indicate a power increase for the updated 911 GT3. Also the rear diffuser seems altered, sticking out a bit more, it would be beneficiary to car’s aerodynamical properties.
Just a few more days until we know all there is to know about the upcoming Porsche, although very little is still hidden.
Thank for the tip Wilco Blok!
