Can James Bond still be cool in an electric Aston Martin?

Call it sacrilige or what you will, but there’s no denying the impact on the public image of EVs when 007 goes green. According to British media Daniel Craig will transport himself and the occasional female in an electrified Aston Martin for the next Bond movie. Will electric cars get the James Bond allure?

Where the Rimac C_Two is probably the coolest EV around at the moment, James Bond is staying true to its Aston Martin heritage. Heritage that started with the DB 5. In the upcoming 25th bond movie, where presumably 007 goes green, director Cary Joji Fukunaga is claimed to be responsible for this move. The British media portray him as a “treehugger.’ One that wants to project a more environmental friendly image of James Bond. Which triggers the question which kind of green explosives he will use?

007 goes green

The 007 EV will be an electrified version of the Aston Martin Rapide, which ironically is currently being sold in its most pollution shape to date: the Rapide AMR. The electrified Rapide (article here) will go into production this year and will be limited to just 155 units. Not that big of a bang for the environment.
