The Subaru Impreza e-Boxer is the third hybrid model for the brand in Europe. A while ago we took the Subaru Impreza with the normal Boxer-engine out for a drive. But what’s new?

The “E” before Boxer of course! The legendary 2.0-liter four-cylinder Boxer-engine gets 80 percent new components in combination with an electric help. This all together with the Symmetrical AWD (S-AWD) and the Lineatronic-transmission should give a smooth acceleration. Pure electric driving “pleasure” is possible with a maximum speed of 40 km/h and for 1,6 km. But meanly, this system will provide a 10% better full economy in stop-and-go traffic.

The Subaru Impreza e-Boxer gives safety the highest priority. Standard on the Impreza e-Boxer: Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection, Reverse Automatic Braking and a Front View Monitor. But don’t forget the EyeSight Driver Assist Technology that includes Pre-Collision Braking Control, Adaptive cruise control and Lane Keep Assist. Didn’t forget anything on the backseats? A child or a dog, thanks to the Rear seat Reminder that’s history.

Thanks to the S-AWD and Active Torque Vectoring, the Impreza e-Boxer provides grip at all times and in all circumstances. This in combination with changes made to the chassis should give the car comfy feeling. You will find sportiness on the exterior thanks to the new 17 or 18-inch rims and sharper front bumpers.

Still no WRX in the future plans.
