We didn’t notice the Brabus 800 Widestar during GIMS. We wonder how we missed it.

“Tuners be crazy” they say and the Brabus 800 Widestar falls right into that category. The name doesn’t leave much to the imagination, as the G Class has been widened by 10 centimeters and received an engine tune that pushes the output to a monstrous 800 horsepower. Not for the feint of heart this car, in the broadest (pun intended) sense that is.

The Widestar 800 ins’t a new thing for the tuner Brabus, the previous generation of the Geländewagen (review) also saw a Widestar. Brabus is in fact quite experienced in tuning the G, they have been doing it for almost 10 years.

For the exterior of the Brabus 800 Widestar customers can opt for 23 inch rims, new holes in the bonnet and a wheel cover finished in carbon. The wing on the back probably serves very little function, next to bragging rights.

Most impressive thing about the Widestar is what has been done to the engine. Done in a reliable way, as that’s what Brabus gives. They’ve not only upped the horsepower to 800, the torque now comes in at 1000 Nm. Enough to make your passengers treat the reworked interior yet again. If you know what I mean …
