Words are just words, that’s what BMW must have thought when the company recorded their lap time of the new M4 GTS.
The BMW M4 GTS is a serious piece of engineering, the list of reworks in comparison to the ‘normal’ M4 is vast. Highlights of the rework are a new technology that uses water-vapors to allow for higher turbo pressure and the extensive aero-rework. BMW claimed a lap time on the Nürburgring of 7 minutes and 28 seconds with the M4 GTS, a track on which the car was developed. BMW uses the Nürburgring for testing, they have a test location near the track and their cars need to run 8000 kilometers on that track before it gets the greenflag. We spotted the model plenty of times, even before its official unveiling.
Just like the Aventador SV lap video, BMW serves us with a video that is proof of the lap time. Manufacturers have been serving up this kind of content for a while now and it never seems to get old. As I mentioned, the lap was completed in the claimed 7 minutes and 28 seconds. Effectively making the BMW M4 GTS the quickest production BMW on the Nürburgring to date.
